Monarch Butterfly Waystation

Idea submitted by: Ana-Maria Dragomir - Art and Design Foundations

Let's help bring the Monarch butterflies back! Over the last two years fewer Monarchs have made their 3000 miles epic journey to Mexico, due to severe weather and declining milkweed populations. Monarchs rely exclusively on the nectar-rich and lovely-scented milkweed to reproduce, as it’s the only food source for their caterpillars. If we add patches of milkweed throughout the campus, we are helping to conserve the migratory Monarchs. Also, since many pollinators love milkweed we are further helping to promote biodiversity.

This idea is sustainable as it contributes towards Monarch butterfly conservation and Biodiversity.
