Permeable Parking Lots
Idea submitted by:- Breyane Miller- General Arts and Science (University Transfer)
Permeable parking lots are made with material that allows rain water to run through it's surface rather than pool and collect and become polluted on non-permeable traditional concrete parking lots. Although an expensive option, the storm water re-routing and collection benefits paired with their lowered maintenance costs provide an alternative that is more sustainable then the traditional option. There are ideas that are LEED Approved.
This is sustainable because permeable parking lots would benefit the College in saving energy and costs.
